The World Bank is seeking to recruit a highly qualified Procurement Specialist to be based in the world Bank Office in Nairobi, Kenya to contribute to the priorities for the Africa Solutions and Innovations in Procurement Unit (SIP) of the Governance Global Practice (GGODR). The Procurement Specialist will be part of a dynamic team of specialists working in the SIP, among whom many are located in World Bank Group Country Offices and the rest at Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Key Themes for Solutions and Innovations in Procurement (SIP)
Provide technical advice on procurement fiduciary activities and lead policy dialogue on procurement with client countries
Support client countries in achieving value for money in public procurement and contract management in order to enhance service delivery and development outcomes with integrity
Create the space for procurement/governance innovation to happen
Establish proactive processes to identify and deploy knowledge to solve specific problems, and improve development outcomes in client countries
Facilitate and join global platforms to share knowledge and practices across the world
Position Description, Selection Criteria and Electronic Application:
The successful candidate should be a holder of a Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification relevant to this post and minimum of 5years experience in carrying out technical duties in procurement and contract management.
