Schneider Electric Kenya seeks a highly qualified Senior Tendering Engineer to support the sales organization with offer initiating, negotiating, closing orders and entering into agreements with customers on behalf of Schneider Electric.
The role will be responsible for configuration of International Electro technical Commission (IEC) assemblies in Bid Management
and IEC project estimation while exercising the highest level of technical and commercial expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
. Initiate the technical and commercial offer based on the received RFQ (Request for Quotation) considering the most adaptive technical solution and the most optimized commercial offer.
. Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with external sales resources, present and potential customers (internal and external) by effectively employing the highest level of skills with regard to the application of engineering and product knowledge, knowledge of customer’s business and organization and knowledge of Schneider Electric product lines.
. Maintain, demonstrate and expand a high level of expertise in product knowledge, application and specification interpretation of IEC low and medium voltage assemblies with their respective devices and all other IEC and Schneider Electric products as they pertain to project business.
. Develop a high level of expertise in the understanding of the IEC distribution equipment offerings of Schneider Electric global operations, leveraging products and product knowledge in support of project estimation work.
. Demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and organic thought in IEC product application and value added engineering opportunities to maximize project spend potential and profitability.
Key Requirements:
. International experience and cultural awareness
. Knowledge in laws, rules and regulations, standards, safety, quality and environmental guidelines as far as applicable
. Knowledge in Information Technology (IT) and installed software
Skills and Experience:
. Local and International tendering procedures knowledge
. General knowledge of electrical networks & systems
. Market and customer knowledge
. Ability to recognize possible risks for the company and to mitigate them in a timely manner
. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively while delivering under pressure
Qualifications:
. Bachelor of Science in related field – Preference for Electrical Engineering
. At least 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering business
. Good application knowledge of Low and Medium Voltage products i.e. switch gear, transformers, protection relays etc.
. Knowledge of engineering, calculation and manufacturing methods, tools and systems
