We are a tented camp in Karen and with business growing, we are once again looking to recruit a number of very highly-motivated, dynamic and skilled individuals to join our team.

* FRONT OFFICE EXECUTIVE (RECEPTIONIST)
* NIGHT AUDITOR
* CHEF
* COOK/FOOD PREPARATION (apprentice level position)

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ALL POSITIONS
We know that many of you are desperately looking for employment, however to save you and us time, please do not apply for these positions unless you meet the criteria and skills outlined below.

For each job, the following facts need to be considered:
– We are in the hospitality industry, and you may be required to work weekends, nights and public holidays. None of these roles are 9-5, Monday to Friday.
– We are located around 2km from Galleria in Karen. Please only apply if you are able to travel to/from this area by your own means, and at odd hours.
– We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, dynamic and show great initiative.
– There will be one off day per week, which will be agreed based on the roster (this is unlikely to be Saturday or Sunday). There are 21 days holiday per calendar year plus public holidays. Salaries are payable on the last day of the month.

RECEPTION / FRONT OFFICE EXECUTIVE

An exciting opportunity to join the team at a tented camp located in Karen. We are looking for intelligent, self-motivated, friendly individuals to be the welcoming face.
There are a number of CASUAL positions available, which for the right candidate, could turn into a fulltime role.

The duties of the job will include, but are not limited to:
– Guest relations, answering questions, welcoming guests to the camp
– Booking transport, onward accommodation, safaris enquiries
– Replying to reservation and travel emails
– Room bookings and allocation
– Liaising with other staff re occupancy, special requirements for guests
– Briefing guests about the facilities at the camp and checking them into rooms, including helping with luggage
– Answering phone call enquiries
– Ensuring the curio shop is clean, stocked and items are priced
– Preparing guest accounts
– Taking payment for guest accounts & cash management
– Preparing daily paperwork for the accountant
– Keeping the reception, shop and work area tidy
– Directing guests/suppliers within the camp if they need to see other departments
– Contributing to the marketing team on possible campaigns, social media posts, exploring new markets, email campaigns, etc

There are two reception shifts, one from 06:30 to 15:30, and the second from 15:00 to midnight. Transport will be provided between Galleria and the camp when departing at midnight.
Salary is 42,000 gross full time (inclusive of housing allowance, transport, etc), and pro rata on a casual basis.

NIGHT AUDITOR
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Maintain positive customer and guest relationships, and respond to any overnight queries or issues with in-house guests.
– Audit cash, credit card and mpesa payments from each shift and ensure they are correctly entered onto our reservation system
– Discuss any discrepancies with relevant personnel
– Ensure that all services are correctly charged to guest accounts
– Assist the Accountants Manager with accurate data entry in QuickBooks.
– Process ETR receipts invoices and receipts paid as directed by the Accountant.
– Assist the Accountant with accurate input/output VAT summaries in Excel
– Track all Mpesa and credit card transactions paid in and reconcile on statements
– Confirming details for future reservation on our in-house reservation system
– Ensuring correct and timely charges of accommodation, plus extras on guests’ accounts

Applicants must have:
– Experience in guest services, with knowledge of the hotel and tourism industry
– Knowledge of Night Audit with at least a basic accounting background/education
– Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to make good, quick decisions.
– Ability to organize, plan and manage workload, with minimum supervision, meeting strict deadlines with an eye for detail.
– Excellent communication, guest service and time management skills.
– A team player and self-starter, who is able to work independently, with the highest integrity, who will do an honest and reliable job.
– Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced and multi-tasked environment.
– Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and use of the internet.
– College Certificate in Bookkeeping or Hospitality/Customer Service and a minimum of 2 years experience in the hotel or accounting industry.
– Ability to work for twelve hour shifts throughout the night.

The shift will be 12 hours from 20:00 until 08:00. Salary would be based on skills and experience in the region of 50,000 gross full time (inclusive of housing allowance, transport, etc).

CHEF
We are looking for a dynamic and skilled chef to join our Food & Beverage team.

– Prepare food from an a la carte menu to a high standard
– Minimum of two years experience in an international standard restaurant/café
– Work hygienically to high food standards
– Ability to work quickly and under pressure

We are looking for someone who can work the flexible working hours that the hospitality industry demands. There could be opportunities either for a breakfast or afternoon shift, on a rotating roster.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience, and expected salary must be stated on application.

COOK/FOOD PREPARATION (apprentice level position)

Are you a self-motivated, hard-working person looking for a break into the hospitality industry?

– Experience in basic food preparation
– Work hygienically to high food standards
– Cutting, peeling, preparing food like soups, samosas, burgers, vegetables ready for cooking
– Washing dishes/pots/pans and cleaning in the kitchen

We are looking for someone who can work the flexible working hours that the hospitality industry demands. There could be opportunities either for a breakfast or afternoon shift, on a rotating roster.
