RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:
Dean and members of Management Committee
Faculty members
Collaborative partners, partner business schools in Kenya and globally
Interdepartmental relationships with colleagues across the Business School.
JOB PURPOSE:
Develop and implement the external and internal Communications strategy to ensure that the Business School communicates in a consistent, accurate, professional and prompt fashion with all its stakeholders: students, parents, participants, corporate, partners and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the communication department and its various role
Oversee the development of the communication strategy in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Director
Lead the creation of marketing and communication collaterals and content in order to differentiate and effectively design schemes and layouts.
Spearhead the business school’s PR initiatives and ensure that the business school maintains a positive image in the public.
Develop and maintain media relations and build contacts with media representatives and houses.
Oversee the operations and production associated with creative materials, including working with sourcing and print production.
Develop and provide content for newsletters and external facing publications
Support the Marketing Director on content and engaging with users on digital and social media platforms.
Analyze competition and other criteria for any communication and creative designs or concepts that could be utilized by SBS.
Attend press conferences, product launches and networking events
Manage both internal and external communication to stakeholders.
Manage the PR aspect of a potential crisis situation.
Ensure communication for areas of responsibility are consistent with SBS identity and help promote brand consistency.
Develop processes of measuring and tracking success and progress of campaigns and activities planned within your area of responsibility.
Any other duty that maybe assigned to you by your supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS
University graduate,
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant working experience,
Team player, with ability to work with different departments within the business schooland faculty,
Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines,
Organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders using a collaborative and professional approach and to operate well under pressure
Ability to work independently and take decisions, but know when to seek guidance anddeliver to deadlines
Experience of managing budgets and maximizing their effectiveness
Proven skills in communication and literacy; including writing creative and engaging copy, proof‐reading and correcting content, presentation and public speaking skills.
