National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) – Chief Internal Auditor

National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) is a State Corporation established under the Industrial Training (Amendment) Act of 2011. The mandate of the Authority is to promote the highest standards in the quality and efficiency of industrial training in Kenya and ensure an adequate supply of properly trained manpower at all levels in the industry.

The Authority wishes to recruit results oriented Kenyan citizens with drive, vision and creativity to fill various positions at its Headquarters based in Nairobi and other centers to ensure delivery of its mandate.
Applications are hereby invited from suitability qualified persons to fill the following vacancies in the Authority:-

Chief Internal Auditor (Grade 11)-HRA/IA/01/2017-1 Post
Reporting to the Manager Internal Audit, the job holder will be responsible for:
a) Developing annual audit plan;
b) Preparing documents for use in the Audit and Compliance Committee;
c) Undertaking special audit investigations as may be required from time to time;
d) Facilitating risk management exercises and ensures implementation of risk management frame work;
e) Interpretation of Authority’s policies for sound audit planning;
f) Coordinating responses to management letters from the external auditors in liaison with the Manager, Internal Audit;
g) Following up of implementation Public Investment Committee (PIC) recommendations;
h) Supervising staff as a delegated responsibility by the Manager Internal Audit

The successful candidate must:
a) Have a Master’s degree in the following discipline: MBA-Finance or Accounting option, MSc. Finance or Accounting option or any other related field from a recognized institution;
b) Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, or Business Management (Finance or Accounting option) or any other related field from a recognized institution;
c) Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) /Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Finalist or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
d) Have at least seven (7) years’ relevant work experience in State owned organization;
e) Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing;
f) Have attended a Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
g) Be Proficient in Computerized Accounting/ Auditing skills;
h) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.

a) Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
b) Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
c) Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC);
d) Certificate of good conduct from Directorate of Criminal Investigation Department (CID);
e) Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
