CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Accounts Assistant.
Overall Job Function
Reporting administratively to the Compliance Manager and functionally to the Finance and Administration Director, he/she will be responsible for processing tax exemption documents (DA1) in a timely manner to ensure all VAT refunds are processed within the timelines provided by the donor.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Prepare all the DA1 forms.
Prepare the VAT report in the Donor format both CDC and USAID requirements.
Maintain a file of all information shared on DA1 in a manner that is accessible and easily retrievable.
Follow up on VAT refunds from received approved DA1 forms.
Update the VAT reports on refunds.
Prepare required reports by donor on VAT status.
Prepare a report that links DA1 forms to financial information on Navision to ease linkage of the two processes.
Prepare withholding tax report and flag any delayed submissions for corrective action.
Support the audit process.
Any other roles as assigned.
Person Specification
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance from a recognized university.
One year work experience.
Undertaking professional accounting training.
Work experience in a busy finance office.
