Location: icipe Duduville campus,Nairobi
icipe seeks to recruit an Electronics Technician to work in the Finance and Administration Unit, Facilities and Assets Section. The position is tenable in Nairobi at the icipe Duduville campus. The position is for an initial fixed-term of 2 years, renewable, based on performance and availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited position. Overall purpose of the job.
To undertake preventive and corrective maintenance of laboratory and general electronics equipment in the Centre, to ensure they perform reliably, efficiently, cost-effectively and are safe to use or operate.
Requirements/Qualifications
§ Diploma in electrical & electronics engineering with 7 years’ hands-on experience or Higher National diploma in electrical & electronics engineering with 5 years’ hands-on experience in a maintenance environment.
§ Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of health and safety in engineering practices.
§ Candidate must demonstrate ability to develop an equipment preventative maintenance programme.
§ Candidate must demonstrate ability to develop equipment annual budget.
§ Experience in a research setting is an added advantage.
