SNV is seeking a Finance Access Advisor to provide technical expertise to livestock farmers and farmer organizations, and other supporting actors in the counties of Isiolo and Meru that will improve the farmers’ access to financial services for increased credit, investment, improved productivity and expanded trade. The Advisor is expected to have a strong knowledge of Isiolo and Meru livestock farmers’ organisations and the social, economic and cultural environment within which they operate.
Candidate’s profile
The right candidate will have:
A Master’s Degree or above in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Agribusiness, Corporate Governance, Strategic Planning, Organizational Development or in relevant area
At least 6 years relevant experience working with farmer organisations to enhance access to financial services for increased credit, investment, improved productivity and expanded trade;
Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills and the capability to explain complex information simply and clearly;
The ability to network and establish relationships with clients;
Research and analytical skills;
Negotiation and influencing skills as well as determination and tenacity with a good level of numeracy and IT skills;
A target-driven mind-set and a flexible approach to work with strong decision-making skills;
Discretion and an understanding of the need for client confidentiality and an ethical and professional approach to work.
Strong written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences
Strong facilitation and training skills;
Ability and willingness to travel within Isiolo and Meru counties.
Contract Duration:
2 years with possibility of extension
