 REPORTS TO: ACADEMIC & RESEARCH DIRECTOR
DEPARTMENT: FACULTY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
JOB OVERVIEW: Teaching & Research Assistants core function is to enhance the learning experience of the students by complementing the teaching and research activities of the faculty. The candidates will be required to use the learning experience from their own undergraduate course to assist the Dean in development, planning and conducting academic curriculum reviews that are relevant to student needs.
Teaching & Research Assistants receive training under the mentorship and supervision of a senior Faculty
as assigned by the Dean. Successful candidates will be awarded scholarships to enrol for Masters Course

QUALIFICATION
A successful candidate should possess characteristics, skills, and experience described as, but not necessarily limited to:
a) Recent graduates with a First class honors degree or Second Class honors with exceptional qualities in either: Bachelor of Business Information Technology or Bachelor of Science Informatics and Computer Science or Bachelor of Science Telecommunications or Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
b) Admission/Enrollment into Masters Course in the Faculty will be added advantage.
c) Excellent programming skills and ability to research.
d) Highly motivated, flexible, adaptable and service-oriented, with strong collaborative skills for team work and consensus building among staff and faculty.
e) Excellent oral and communication skills and strong presentation skills are required.
f) Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others in an academic environment. Ability to set priorities and multi-task.
g) Ability to learn and innovate as needs of university and higher education evolve.
h) Integrity and unquestionable work ethics.
