The ideal candidate will be an experienced and highly motivated journalist with at least ten years’ newsroom
experience, partly at supervisory level. You will have a proven ability to shape newspapers, generating exclusive
content and influencing editing and design. If you are also a proficient writer and have a wide network of sources, it be
will be an added advantage.
You also need to be an effective team leader, driving the performance of subeditors, reporters and designers and
steadfastly focused on circulation targets.
QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Mass Communication or a first degree in any subject area coupled with a solid
training in newsroom practice.
• 10 years’ journalism experience with at least four (4) at a supervisory level, specifically leading an editorial
product.
• Demonstrable achievement either as a subeditor or reporter
