The Nutrition Officer under the general supervision of the Chief of Nutrition Section, contributes to programme design and implementation, evaluation of nutrition capacity development programme activities, data analysis and progress reporting.

This position is currently based in Nairobi, but will move to Mogadishu – Somalia in 2018.

Summary of key accountabilities:
Collect and analyze programme data for the Situational Analysis, programme/project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Undertake ongoing visits to UNICEF project sites, assess local conditions and resources, and monitor UNICEF capacity and human resource development inputs.
Undertake follow-up actions on capacity development programme implementation activities and supports zonal offices with human resource capacity development for nutrition at the regional and district levels and prepares reports.
Attend technical cooperation meetings, prepare notes and undertake follow up actions.
Select and compile training and orientation materials for programme implementation.
Assist in preparation of country programme recommendations by drafting CPSS, PSS and other relevant documentation ensuring adherence to established rules and regulations.
Evaluate and analyze nutrition monitoring reports to ensure that data and findings are consistent.
Draft donor, management, annual reports and documents.
To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…
An Advanced University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health or a technical field related to the work of UNICEF.
A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in project administration, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity development.
Developing country work experience (for IP) or field work experience (for NO).
Fluency in English and a second UN working language is an asset.
