Laboratory Technician III, Job Group ‘G` – Two (2) Posts
Permanent and Pensionable Terms
Salary Scale: kshs. 20,800×980-21,780×980-22,760×1,020-23,780×1,030-24,810×1,050-25,860 p.m
House Allowance : Kshs: 3,200 p.m
Health Risk Allowance : Kshs: 3,000 p.m
Commuter Allowance : Kshs: 4,000p.m
Leave Allowance : Ksh. 4,000 (twice per year)
Leave Entitlement : 30 working days per year.
Hardship Allowance : Kshs: 5,700 pm
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
i. certificate in any of the following fields: Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution
ii. certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a more experienced officer.
Animal Health
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-
Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
Preparing media stains and dyes;
Collecting, receiving, recording, packaging, dispatching, analyzing and preserving test samples and disposing laboratory waste
Interested and qualified candidates are required to make their application by completing one (1) PSC 2(Revised 2016) application form, which can be downloaded from the PSC Website
Completed PSC 2forms together with copies of applicant’s Academic/Professional Certificates should reach the
