This position is responsible for coordination of research project and attachment functions to increase the successful completion rate of Diploma Students.
REPORTS TO – LEARNING AND ADMISSION OFFICER / NAIROBI BRANCH.
a) Allocate supervisors to Diploma students per semester, two weeks after close of registration period
b) Mobilize diploma students to complete research project in time, through orientation of new students and by organizing and facilitating mock defense (1 per quarter) and 2 research forums done on a quarterly basis.
c) Responsible for timely issuance of data collection letters to students after successfully completion and submission of the proposal as well as completion letters to those who have completed their research work.
d) Maintain a database of qualified research and attachments supervisors as per the area of supervision through proper filling, recruitment of new supervisors, retention of existing supervisors and attracting as well as maintaining rules governing supervision which includes but not limited to timing after allocation and research supervision meetings.
e) Compile and submit to Examinations department at KIMSOM details of candidates who have completed the course requirements at Diploma part II/section III for certification and transcripts
f) Handle all graduation matters for the branch such as updating and filing the graduation list, issuance and receiving of gowns, registration of alumni and updating alumni database after close of the graduation registration period.
g) Oversee preparation and approve the processing of supervisors’ claims for Research and attachment.
h) Respond to all queries on research projects & attachment Department through answering phone calls, prompt responds to emails and use of memos to communicate necessary deadlines for timely delivery of projects. Undertake customer satisfaction surveys every semester to gauge satisfaction levels of clients.
i) Participate in student admission, proper class organization for effective delivery of content through orientation of new students.
j) Oversee the attachment supervision process through ensuring that all relevant materials like attachment letters, logbook and instructions are available and issued as students begin their attachment and evaluate student performance in attachments.
k) Create and promote linkages with organizations to offer attachments to students through approaching varied organizations to negotiate for attachment programmes.
l) Oversee proper records and filling of correspondence, score sheet lists, attachment logbooks and reports to inform future decision making.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Master Degree in a relevant field from a recognized University
Three (3) years of relevant work experience
