Position : Senior Legal Officer
Job-Group CPSB 08 ‘L’
Number of Posts : One (1)
Terms of Service : Three (3) Years Contract
Basic Salary Scale : Kshs 41,770 rising to Kshs. 57,900 per month
Other Allowances: As provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission
Responsibilities
- undertaking research on assigned legal issues;
- collecting and collating research data
- analyzing research data and compiling reports;
- preparing preliminary legal documents/instruments;
- Undertaking Law reviews;
- Ensuring Compliance with regional, national and international Instruments
- Coordinating stakeholder consultations
- Preparing Legal opinions and legal drafts;
- Advising and guiding county departments on various legal policy
- Performing any other legal related duty as may be assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university;
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Kenya School of Law;
- Registered with the Law Society of Kenya;
- Possesses a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position (post admission to the bar);
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
