Position: Production and Operations Officer

Reporting to: The Managing Director.

Location: Starlite Valley Producers Ltd Kitui


  • Overseeing day to day production;
  • Co-ordinating raw material sourcing;
  • Coordinate collection centre operations including but not limited to ensuring they are compliant with Food Health and safety standards;
  • Ensure efficient management of raw material inventory and determine optimum stock and re-order levels;
  • Ensure that the Health and safety standards within the facility is met including that of the employees;
  • Organise relevant training of production staff on Food Safety and Health standards;
  • Ensure proper records are kept in production, machine maintenance and supply records;
  • Responsible for plant maintenance including but not limited to plumbing works, ground maintenance, machine maintenance;
  • Coordination of production shifts;
  • Appraisal of production staff;
  • Ensure Quality control process and procedures are followed;
  • Prepare Production budget based on factual source documents;
  • Ensure that proper documentation of Process mapping for the production lines;
  • Ensure that the production targets have been met while upholding high standards of quality and safety;
  • Ensure efficient management of raw material inventory and determine optimum stock and re-order levels;
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and warehousing teams to meet and exceed customer expectation.


  • Bsc Food Science and Technology
  • Three years’ experience in a food production environment, plant maintenance course and experience will be an added advantage.
  • Has experience in recording keeping.
  • Has experience in food certification processes.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate experience in Food Safety and Handling training.
