The Finance Assistant, as part of the finance team will be expected to work flexibly and collegially in offering support to the Finance department and other internal stakeholders in the financial management system of AECF. S/he has responsibility for providing timely and efficient accounting and financial support service ensuring accuracy and completeness in the payment processes, data management and reporting as well as maintaining high financial management and control standards.
Academic Qualification
· Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance specialisations or similar qualifications.
Professional Qualifications
· A Certified Public Accountant II (CPA2) or holder of an equivalent professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA.
Relevant Experience
· Good working knowledge of not-for-profit.
· Computer proficiency and familiarity with a range of software applications including advanced MS Excel, MS Word.
· Proficient in Microsoft NAV dynamics software is highly desirable.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general accounting and financial management,
preferably in a not for profit sector or fund management setting.
· Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to prepare financial reports to a high level of proficiency.
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-cultural teams.
· Excellent English and Swahili language skills essential; Knowledge of any other language will be an advantage.
