Objective of the position

The health store food nutritionist is placed primarily in the food supplements, body building and other specialized category. Their task is to assist shopper/consumer’s journey to reaching optimal health through food and nutrition advice. The nutritionist is not a Dietitian in context to the retail shopper journey.

  • Pro-actively engaging with, advising and selling to store shopper/consumer specialized health products on shop floor
  • Actively helping to create a custom diet/meal plan for consumer.
  • Consistently evaluate, with consumer recurrent visits back to the store to ensure solution is effective, changing plans as needed
  • Responsible for making recommendations to store/organization on ways to get food nutrition advice in-store as well as other channels – POSM, nutrition info-cards, social media, press, schools etc
  • Actively passing on food nutrition knowledge/skills to other section attendants on all products/categories in the store
  • Initiate, plan and execute monthly trainings, rotations within outlets with support from Chief Nutritionist
  • Cross selling other store products relevant to consumer’s needs e.g. sugar free products, when selling diabetic patient supplements to promote healthy eating
  • Fully responsible for specialized product stock, movement, expiries etc in the store, but especially for designated sections/aisles/categories
  • Make recommendations regarding public food policy, food fortification, nutrition standards based on diverse consumer profile (Asian, African, Caucasian)
  • Creating reports as directed by Chief Nutritionist, Branch Manager, ROM or RSM from time to time
  • Take initiative to improve knowledge base on physiology, diets, diet solutions (technology/products) and other food nutrition research.
Minimum Requirements
  • A degree in Food Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and other staff members.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge in execution of duties

This position is open to fresh graduates.
