The Human Resource Assistant will report to the Head of Human Resources and Administration and will be responsible for providing administrative support in the implementation of HR policies and procedures. . He/she will be responsible for day to day HR admin activities such as leave and attendance management, benefits administration and maintenance of employee records.
- Custodian of employee records/files; Responsible for maintenance, regular update and proper storage of staff files in line with internal guidelines
- Manage employees’ attendance and leave and initiate appropriate action against any violations as per the attendance and leave policies.
- Provide administrative support to the talent officer in the areas of recruitment, performance management and training.
- Accurately collate monthly payroll inputs and submit for final payroll processing in a timely manner.
- Prepare HR letters and documentation such as employment contracts and warning letters in line with prescribed templates.
- Receive employee grievances and handle/escalate as appropriate.
- Manage the exit process; conduct exit interviews where applicable, ensure full clearance and follow up on processing of final dues
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences or equivalent with postgraduate diploma in HRM
- IHRM membership is required
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role in a labour intensive environment
- Experience of working in a unionized environment is an added advantage
- Attention to detail;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good planning and organization skills
