The job holder will be the key liaison and trusted financial advisor to the Commercial Function in supporting the sustainable strategic growth of the business through the provision of various financial analysis to aid in decision making.
Area 1: Cost Control
•Work with the Commercial Director in developing, monitoring and controlling all commercial budgets by providing detailed analysis of all variances and recommending remedial interventions both in the short and long-term.
•Provide input on budgeting and forecasting, challenge cost and revenue drivers within sales meetings and make suggestions to help improve the performance of the business.
•Build financial awareness to drive a cost-conscious culture within the Commercial team.
Area 2: Credit Management
•Analyse and advise on credit limits of both key accounts and distributors that drive business growth without high risk exposures for KWAL.
Area 3: Financial Analysis
•Work with the Commercial team in the management of pricing and product costs through margin analysis, identifying acceptable margins and strategies for achieving these margins.
•Direct responsibility to the revenue generated by the sales and distribution function through analysis and act as a link to between the sales and distribution department and the overall finance department of the organization.
•Work with the Marketing Manager in developing business cases.
Area 4: Trade & Marketing Activities
•Develop, recommend and manage (financial perspective) customers and distributor promotional and incentive schemes to drive organisational objectives.
•In collaboration with the Marketing team, develop activity plans to ensure that Marketing activities are executed in line with targeted levels of investment and agreed cycle plans.
•Guide and help develop financial business cases for all investment projects undertaken by commercial function and guide in the monitoring of benefits by gathering data and calculating costs, benefits and returns.
•Work with the Sales team in the development of profit stories to proactively manage delivery of a profitable brand mix in line with business objectives.
•A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business-related field.
•Professional qualification in Accounting/Finance.
•A minimum of year (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
•Experience in a supporting a commercial function is an added advantage.
•Similar experience in FMCG industry.
