Position:  Human Resource Officer                                                                       

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Contract:  3 Years Renewable contract                                                                

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As a Human resource officer your mandate will be ensuring efficient implementation of human resource and administration policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To assist departmental heads in identifying manpower requirements training needs and in formulating and facilitating training programs.
  2. To develop and maintain systems for recruitment, selection, orienting and placement of staff.
  3. Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organization objectives
  4. To deal with all industrial relations matters: disputes interpretation of various labor laws, staff regulations administration of the salaries and benefits package rewarding.
  5. To implement human resource policy procedures and systems.
  6. Coordinate implementation of Performance appraisal in consultation with respective Heads of Departments.
  7. To ensure adequacy of staff welfare and safety and security at all working places.
  1. To coordinate implementation of staff benefits and welfare Schemes
  2. Maintain the leave management system
  3. Manage transport for efficient usage by everyone in the organization
  4. Coordinate effective administration of the office, cleanliness and maintenance of good working environment
  5. Conduct exit interviews
  6. Conduct staff training needs assessment
  7. Prepare and implement staff training plans
  1. Resolve and manage conflicts and arbitrate cases among staff;
  2. Coordinate staff welfare matter
  3. Liaise with finance in preparation of staff payroll.

GENERAL

  1. Generate reports as per the institutional requirements
  2. Guide, coordinate/supervise staff reporting to the position
  3. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  8. High integrity and good ethical standards.
  9. Ability to inspire, motivate and mentor.
  10. Knowledge in financial management law and regulations.
  11. Knowledge in relevant IT applications.
  12. Good Report writing skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Preferably Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management /Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  2. Be a registered member with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
  3. A minimum of four 5 years post-Bachelor’s degree relevant work experience in a reputable organization.
  4. Certificate in Computer Applications.
  5. Very Strong Communication and presentation skills and experience including proficiency in Power point, Word and Excel
  6. Passion/interest in business sector issues
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  8. Exhibit a total commitment to maintaining high quality service standards of KNCCI; demonstrate service excellence skills in dealing proactively with members and all KNCCI contacts.
  9. Ability to thrive in a network organization;
  10. Qualification Required & Experience
