Othaya- Mukurwe-ini Water Services Company is a Water Services Provider formed as per Water Act 2016 and owned by the County Government of Nyeri.

To strengthen our team of staff and leadership, we invite applications from highly competent, proactive and self-driven individual to fill the following positions within the company.



Designation:   Technical Officer

Department:   Technical

Reports to:      Technical Manger


Responsible for: Water Distribution Technicians



•To ensure reliable supply of water to meet customers demand. 



•Coordinate water supply services as per the service charter to ensure customer satisfaction 

•Operations and Maintenance of the water distribution systems to ensure it is effective and efficient 

•Ensure timely repair of leaks and bursts to reduce NRW 

•Recommend extension of pipelines to unserved customers 

•Ensure all pipelines and water reservoirs are cleaned as per the schedule 

•Advise on the most economic repair and maintenance procedures 

•Ensure customer complaints related to the section are timely and satisfactorily resolved 

•Maintain the sections records for ease of retrieval and future reference 

•Prepare and submit reports 

•Mentor, coach, supervise and monitor performance of staff assigned.



•Diploma in Civil Engineering or water engineering or equivalent

•Degree /HND in Civil Engineering or Water Engineering or equivalent will be added advantage.

•A minimum of 5 years’ relevant  experience

•Good communication and interpersonal skills 

•Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision 

•Planning and organizational skills 

•Excellent analytical skills

•Basic Computer skills

•Knowledge of CAD.


3 Years renewable Contract subject to satisfactory performance evidenced by continuous achievement of performance targets.

Applicants must satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity through provision of; 

Certificate of Good conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D). 

 A certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (C.R.B) ·

Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (H.E.L.B). 

 Clearance certificates from the Ethics & Anticorruption Commission (E.A.CC). ·

Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (K.R.A)
