The Payments Platform Delivery Head’s role is to work closely with senior stakeholders and industry partners to plan and drive the implementation of the Group Payments program. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the payments programme deliverables across multiple work steams, maintaining pace, execution, and direction. They will drive in-depth understanding of the customer to deliver a ‘one customer’ view with respect to payment solutions including identifying customer pain points, gathering customer feedback/input on payment solutions etc.
Managing conflicting priorities and inter-dependencies and advising multiple project work streams on the course of action as appropriate is an integral deliverable for the incumbent. They must ensure collaboration between stakeholders (Data, Technology teams, Risk, Channels, Products etc.) to identify, define, specify, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs. Similarly, collaboration with strategic partners (private or corporate customers, financial intermediaries, telcos etc.) across Africa is an integral part of this role so as to enrich customer experience across the customer lifecycle for payments solutions.
You will also play an integral role in ensuring the success of the Group payments programme.
Qualifications
Formal Education & Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, engineering, finance, or related field required. MBA in addition is preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of twelve (12) years in financial services, retail banking or related field.
- Minimum of five (7) years of direct management experience.
- Experience in rolling-out digital technologies and businesses with a strong customer orientation.
- Expertise and experience in defining and building out program strategies and roadmaps.
- Experience creating, developing, and launching large scale effective money movement strategies.
- Proven ability to apply technology solutions to solving complex business problems and communicating solutions effectively.
- Proven ability to address and persuade multiple constituencies including senior executives.
- Demonstrate understanding of the end to end payments process from origination to fulfilment and the underlying system components.
- Conversant with payment platforms such as PEP+, Payment Fraud detection platforms, Sanctions screening platforms etc.
- Conversant with payments processes and process participants (ACH, SWIFT, scheme rules, regulators etc.)
