PRINCIPAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER– ONE (1) POST V/NO. 61/2021
Gross Salary: Ksh. 185,534 – 290,597 p.m. PSC 5 (Salary includes 60% basic pay and 40% allowances)
Annual leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover As provided by the Commission
Terms of service: Three (3) years contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Supply Chain Management Officer I, CSG 10 and above or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service;
(ii) a Bachelors Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or any equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) a Diploma in Supplies Management from a recognized institution;
(iv) Professional certification in procurement and supplies management such as CIPS & CSCP, CPSP-K;
(v) Membership to Kenya Institute of Supplies Management; and
(vi) a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, best practices and emerging issues in supply chain management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:
(i) Creating of procurement requisitions and orders in the system;
(ii) Receipts of goods and services;
(iii) Progressing of orders after deliveries;
(iv) Taking goods on charge upon receipts;
(v) Stock and inventory control and updating stock control cards;
(vi) Monitoring reordering levels;
(vii) Secretariat to disposal committee;
(viii) Stores management (safety, security, and cleanliness);
(ix) Participating in survey to identify obsolete, surplus and unserviceable items;
(x) Carrying out continuous stock checking and periodic market surveying for common user items;
(xi) Issuing goods to users and user departments; and
(xii) Carrying out IFMIS responsibilities as assigned
