POSITION: Tourism Marketing Officer
QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 38,270 – 51,170 (CPSB 09)
House Allowance: Ksh.12, 800 pm
Commuter Allowance: KShs. 5, 000 p.m.
Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities
I) Development of county tourism marketing and communication strategy
II) Develop content for tourism website, put in place monitoring measures to ensure its maintenance and regular updating
III) Develop and implement county brand marketing in collaboration with relevant departments
IV) Develop county marketing collaterals for use in general and specific advertisement for county’s tourisrn attractions and features
V) Identify tourism investments opportunities for action by the relevant department
VI) Liaise with tourism partners, to assist in the development and production of appropriate products and services that align with the county’s marketing approach
VII) Promote homestay tourism in the county
VIII) Assist in the identification of global target groups and niche markets and work with industry partners to assist in the development of products and services that meet the scientifically demands of these markets.,
IX) Carry out analysis of source of complaints from visitors and communicate with partners to find solutions to the same
X) Ensuring that appropriate mechanisms are in place for all product development initiatives undertaken
XI) Work with tourism partners to assist in broadening the diversity of tourism products and services offered and available
XII) Monitoring and analyzing tourism market trends
XIII) Provide timely information on product and service development offerings to representatives and partners in the tourism sector
XIV) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements for Appointment
I) Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Marketing, Business Administration or a strongly related marketing discipline or any other related course
II) At least 3 years working experience in the tourism industry
III) Knowledge of local tourism and hospitality industry
IV) Good leadership, organizational and communication skills
V) Demonstrate high degree of professional competence, managerial ability and people management skills
VI) Be computer literate
