CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
We are seeking a high-caliber, self – motivated and dedicated applicant to fill the position of Conservation & Community Development Technical Specialist.
Position: Conservation & Community Development Technical Specialist
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer with a matrix report to Programme Development & Funding Lead – Fundraising & Communications department.
Duration: Full time. Permanent.
Location: Nanyuki, Kenya.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is considered a role model for conservation with an integrated approach to wildlife conservation, livestock management, and community development.
The Conservation & Community Development Technical Specialist would work closely with programme teams and play a vital role in the technical design and implementation of pioneering projects in high conservation value landscapes. The Conservation & Community Development Technical Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and leadership on the design and delivery of projects across the organisation. They will work with both the Conservation and Community Development teams, ensuring that projects are aligned and contribute to the overall vision of Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Projects should seek to deliver maximum impact in conserving biodiversity and improving the well–being and prosperity of communities.
The role holder will be part of the Project Management Office (PMO) and provide support to the effective running of that new function. They will also work closely with the Fundraising team to provide technical input to fundraising proposals.
Education, Language & Qualifications
- A solid educational background, at least to degree level (Masters degree preferred) in a relevant discipline (Conservation management, development studies etc.) development studies and/or conservation an advantage
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili (written and verbal)
