Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. At least a diploma in any of the following fields: Soil Sciences, Laboratory Technology, Laboratory Sciences or any other related qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Served for at least two years in an accredited soil laboratory in the wider public service or private sector;
  3. Excellent time- management and problem solving skills; and;
  4. The ability to work alone and with a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receiving and documenting soil and plant samples for analysis;
  2. Preparing soil and plant samples and reagents for analysis;
  3. Conducting soil analysis for PH, soil nutrients, microbial organisms and soil pests;
  4. Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
  5. Recording and maintaining of laboratory data and analysis reports;
  6. Disposing laboratory waste;
  7. Technical guidance on Laboratory equipment and reagents to be procured.

Method of application
