Re-Advertisement: Member – Ethics And Anti – Corruption Commission Two (2) Posts

Pursuant to Sections 9 (b) and 10 (1) of the Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission Act, 2011, (Amended 2015), the Public Service Commission invited applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for the position of Member of the Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission in an advert that closed on 11th September, 2021.
After considering the applications and shortlisting, the Commission has determined that the advertisement was not responsive and, therefore, readvertises the vacancies as follows:

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment as a Member of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, a person must:
(i) hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
(ii) have knowledge and experience of not less ten (10) years in any of the following fields: –
(a) Ethics and Governance
(b) Law
(c) Public Administration
(d) Leadership
(e) Economics
(f) Social Studies
(g) Audit
(h) Accounting
(i) Fraud Investigation
(j) Public Relations and Media; or
(k) Religious Studies or Philosophy
(iii) have had a distinguished career in his/her respective field.
(iv) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
TERMS OF SERVICE
(i) A Member, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission shall be appointed for a single term of six years, shall not be eligible for re-appointment and shall serve on a part-time basis.
(ii) Allowances and benefits entitled to a Member, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, being a state officer, shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
DISQUALIFICATION CRITERIA
A person shall not be qualified for appointment as Member of the Commission if the person:
(i) is a member of a governing body of a political party;
(ii) is an undischarged bankrupt;
(iii) has been convicted of a felony; or
(iv) has been removed from public office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other law.
NOTE: No (i) above shall cease to apply to a person after two general elections have been held since the person ceased to hold such office.
INTERESTED APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO NOTE:
1. Those who had applied earlier need not apply;
2. The names of shortlisted candidates shall be published on the Commission’s website;
3. Shortlisted candidates will be required to present originals of the following documents during the interviews;
(a) National Identity Card;
(b) Academic and Professional Certificates and transcripts;
(c) Any other supporting documents and testimonials;
(e) Current clearances from the following bodies:
(i) Kenya Revenue Authority;
(ii) Higher Education Loans Board;
(iii) A Registered Credit Reference Bureau; and
(iv) Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate)
(f) Self-Declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
(g) Recommendations from relevant professional bodies and associations (where applicable).
MODE OF APPLICATION
1. Candidates may submit manual (hard copy) or electronic (online) applications.
2. All applications should be submitted together with detailed curriculum vitae, a copy of ID/Passport, copies of academic certificates, testimonials and any other relevant supporting documents.
