About The Role

The overall purpose of this job is to ensure tax compliance for all Sendy businesses.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides advice on the tax structures of the group and how to optimize them
  • Ensures that all entities under Sendy are tax compliant and have a valid Tax compliance certificate
  • Be the lead for KRA matters (e.g. VAT Auto assessments etc) and KRA audits.
  • Keep up-to-date on tax changes and provide the finance team with monthly circulars on key changes that affect Sendy.
  • Support Expansion – Tax registration, compliance etc.
  • Develop tax procedures to handle new or emerging requirements in the business units.
  • Frequent review and reconciliation of each company’s tax ledgers to ensure we communicate any inconsistencies to the relevant parties.
  • Be the lead in transfer pricing regulations for the entire group.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance & tax field.
  • Professional qualifications in accounting such as CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in finance & tax accounting.
  • Good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Good grasp of Finance, Tax Accounting and Reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare summary reports for discussions and decision making.
  • Excellent grasp of Taxation & relevant legislation.
  • High-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly organized.
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Analytical, creative thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Open to change.
  • Calm under chaos.
  • Directly accountable to the VP Finance.
  • Required to work with the Finance managers / Senior MA’s of all the Business units in all countries,Tax authorities and Suppliers/Customers.
