Job Description

The incumbent will assess, review/price and determine risk acceptance for risks presented within the set standards of service in a manner to ensure quality retention of risks and timely service.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and dispatch of renewal terms/notices to ensure maximum retention
  • Renewal follow up with weekly update reports on performance and progress
  • Updating of the renewal tracker daily
  • Sharing SMS renewal reminders prelist with call center for action.
  • Preparation of monthly renewal reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with company credit policy and payment plan.
  • Ensure premium collection with weekly reports on outstanding premium.
  • Follow up with Credit control to issue cancellation notices and cancel policies with outstanding premiums.
  • Maintain effective business relationships/engagements/entertainment to ensure effective delivery of service and maximum business retention.
  • Assessment, management, and rating of risks to ensure acceptance and retention of quality business.
  • Responding to customer queries and complaints in a timely manner
  • Training and mentoring underwriting assistants to ensure motivation
  • Issuance of policy documents within 14 days from receipt of full documentation
  • Issuance of policy endorsements within 14 days from receipt of documentation
  • Dispatch of renewal notices 6 weeks prior to the policy renewal date.
  • Ensuring adherence to underwriting processes and guidelines
  • Evaluation of accounts performance to maintain a loss ratio of portfolio at 50%
  • Follow up with Credit control to issue cancellation notices and cancel policies with outstanding premiums.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Business Degree with preference in Insurance/Actuarial science
  • Progress towards AIIK/ACII qualifications
  • 3 years’ experience preferably in the Insurance Industry
