The Amref International University is seeking to recruit for the position of Lecturer – Department of community Health to support academic growth of the department through quality teaching, supervision and administrative support to the department.

Job Description
Amref International University’s focus is on training, research and extension in health sciences with emphasis on promotive, preventive, rehabilitative and palliative health. Main purpose of the job
To support academic growth of the department through quality teaching, supervision and administrative support to the department
SPECIFIC ROLES AND ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership

  1. Advance AMIU and department vision and mission
  2. Participating in department meetings and school meetings
  3. Build and maintain strategic partnership
  4. Programme Development and Management
  5. Development and review of various curricula to grow the department
  6. Administer the department academic programmes
  7. Quality assurance in academic programmes implementation
  8. overseeing student academic achievement
  9. Uphold standard of professional integrity and ethics
  10. Teaching academic programmes
  11. Resource Mobilization and Management
  12. Overseeing student enrolment
  13. Focus department resource requirements
  14. Research and Publications
  15. Supervise student research to completion
  16. Publish in peer review journals
  17. Disseminate research in conferences and other relevant forums
  18. Respond to research funding projects
  19. Maintaining department facilities and equipment
  20. Participating in outreach activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
i. Must have earned PhD in Public/ Community Health, Environmental Health, public health
nutrition or related area
ii. At least 5 years’ experience in teaching in a university
iii. Research experience with publications in peer journals
iv. Knowledge and skills of eLearning methodologies
