Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Manager, KQ Health, the ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and restoring patients’ health through driving patient care and clinical standards whilst working with a multidisciplinary team. S/he will be the focal lead in provision of nursing function across all health pillars in the company and will be required to play a supervisory role for the nursing and support team, coordinating daily operations at the center with focus on emergency preparedness and response. S/he will also be required to take an administrative ownership of the infrastructure and medical equipment as well as managing the Case Management Portfolio, QMS and customer experience; S/he will be the MOH liaison officer for the medical center.

Principle Accountabilities;

Clinical Care

  • Ensure seamless service delivery of outpatient clinical and occupational health services and admission processes by clinicians.
  • Coordinate emergency response processes at the center.
  • Coordinate delivery of aviation services for crew.
  • Growth of MCH services.

Customer Excellence

  • Ensure that the highest quality nursing care is provided to patients and their families by leading the improvement of the patient experience, appointment bookings, patients’ after follow-ups and complaints handling.
  • Corporate wellness; Participate in the establishment, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and occupational Programmes.

People Management

  • Provide nursing supervision and ensure compliance to nursing council guidance.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate nursing objectives and guidelines related to health care delivery in the clinic.
  • Orientate new staff in the clinics: nurses, support staff, consultants and technicians denoting, key policies, patient pathways, HMIS documentation and teamwork approaches.
  • Participate in the selection and orientation of part time nurses training, clinical nursing guidelines, Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and CMEs
  • Develop, implement and evaluate nursing objectives and guidelines related to health care delivery in the clinic.

Administrative

  • Participate in decision-making concerning patient care services, emergency response, non-clinical services and ensure that hospital policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied.
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements specific to the unit and enhancing streamlined processes, patience experience and overall nurse performance.
  • Owner and oversees medical equipment and infrastructure.
  • Procurement of medical commodities and applicable budget compliance.

Quality Management System

  • Develop programs which address continuous quality improvement system ensuring compliance to set quality metrics such as waiting times, admission times, customer satisfaction and compliance to the service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the clinical team in developing objectives and establishing policies to ensure quality in the delivery of medical care.

Knowledge, Skills and experience;

  • Bachelors’ Degree in nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Must be a Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN) with a valid registration license from the Ministry of Health. Additional sub-specialty and/or A/E experience an added advantage.
  • Valid Certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), or Advanced trauma life support (ATLS), or Emergency Trauma Bag (ETB) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years post internship relevant experience.
  • Experience working with hospital information management systems and private sector.
  • Demonstrable mastery of nursing care.
  • Superior team leadership, team working and co-operation skills with the ability to drive change management.
  • Excellent analytical, team building and interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and difficult situations with resilience, calmly and effectively.
  • Must be a person of unquestionable integrity.
