In line with our commitment to providing quality, affordable education through world-class service delivery platforms, USIU-Africa is seeking to recruit suitable and qualified candidates for the following position:

ICT ASSISTANT

Summary:

Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer – Service Delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing level 1 ICT support and where applicable to escalate them to a specialist.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks/Duties:

  1. Capturing on the helpdesk system the details to all user requests as they come in via phone or email
  2. Resolving level 1 calls (MS Office, User permissions, Internet Access, Printing errors, etc) over the phone or remotely
  3. Assigning level 2 and 3 calls to appropriate ICT Specialists in the various sections
  4. Ensuring that all completed calls are appropriately closed and users get updates via phone or email on the status and progress of their requests
  5. Updating the helpdesk knowledgebase with relevant information
  6. Installation of various applications on the various computers within campus
  7. Maintain all mission critical hardware on the campus – PCs, UPSes and Printers
  8. Responsible for developing SOPs and other periodical checklists for all hardware
  9. Provide on the spot training for students and faculty who experience difficulties using equipment and applications in the lab

Qualifications /Educational/Professional/Experience:

Educational Qualifications:

  1. Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other relevant course
  2. At least 1-year experience in a related capacity
  3. Knowledge on Office applications such as MS Excel, word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  4. A person of high personal integrity
  5. Attention to detail
