Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a registered Kenyan NGO with a main office in Kisumu and regional offices in 7 counties of Kenya. IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate HIV/AIDS research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities. IRDO is currently funded by Kenya R. Cross Society through NFM3 to implement HIV prevention, care and treatment services targeting Key Populations (KPs) in Kisii, Nyamira, Busia, Nandi, Migori, and Vihiga Counties. We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill in the following positions in Nandi County from January 2022.

Clinical Officer.

REF: IRDO/GF NANDI/001/2021

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator.

 Provide the minimum package of clinical services at the Drop in Centre (Dice) and during community outreaches targeting KPs as per the Mt National Guidelines/standards.

Shall serve as the DICE In charge.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensure excellent standards and quality of clinical care is provided to all clients and effective referrals and linkages made with tertiary health facilities. • Diagnose and institute effective clinical procedures, which are consistent with National guidelines and observe legal and statutory requirements in all situations. Mentor and supervise the other members of the clinical team Ensure that all clients’ rights to access services are adhered to at the Centre. Ensure that the health care services are friendly, responsive to the needs and offered at the convenient time of Key Populations and their clients. • Coordinate integration of health services with peer outreaches. • Ensure that correct information is relayed to beneficiaries, SCHMTs and other stakeholders in a timely manner. • Ensure correct, confidential and timely updating of clients data/ records. • Prepare and submit progress reports at required intervals.

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery • Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council of Kenya. • Must have at least two years’ experience in a busy health facility. • Should have training and practical experience in Key Populations Intervention. • Knowledge on HIV care and treatment added advantage. • Ability to diagnose and treat Sexually Transmitted Infections. • Computer literacy is essential. • Working knowledge of Nandi County is highly desirable, specifically the KPs hotspots
