Impact Research and Development Organization (IRDO) is a registered Kenyan NGO with a main office in Kisumu and regional offices in 7 counties of Kenya. IRDO’s principal mandate is to design, implement and evaluate HIV/AIDS research and intervention programs that improve the health status of individuals and local communities. IRDO is currently funded by Kenya R. Cross Society through NFM3 to implement HIV prevention, care and treatment services targeting Key Populations (KPs) in Kisii, Nyamira, Busia, Nandi, Migori, and Vihiga Counties. We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel to fill in the following positions in Nandi County from January 2022.

FIELD OFFICER (PWIDs).

Job Summary:

To coordinate and mobilize people who inject drugs (PWIDs) at strategic hotspots through the peer led education model and during community outreaches /targeted forums.

Reports to: Program Coordinator Location:

Based in Busia County, with field visits to implementation sites
Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, update and oversee the implementation of Outreach Workers and Per Educators Work Plans/Action Plans. • Ensure that program activities including community outreaches, peer review meetings, on on one session and trainings are carried out according to the Global Fund/Kenya Red Cross, guidelines and with due diligence and targets met. • Ensure that correct information is relayed to beneficiaries, C/SCHMTs and other stakeholders in a timely manner. • Prepare and submit progress reports at required intervals; and represent IRDO at relevant meetings within the community.

Requirements:

• Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or health related field • Must have at least 3 years experience coordinating PWIDs Intervention program preferably in a similar project/related project; must have experience with Peer Education supervision. • Knowledge and experience of implementing Peer led sessions with PWIDs is added advantage • Working knowledge of Busia County is highly desirable, specifically the PWIDs hotspots
Other competencies:

Ability to multi-task; good writing and presentation skills; communication skills and teamwork; able to travel long distances; can work long hours, including weekends an public holidays when necessary.
