Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Manager, Budget and Planning in the Finance Division.

Job Purpose:

The Financial Analyst will ensure that monthly MIS reports are developed and discussed with departmental heads as well as coordinate the budget process for AKUHN.


  • Financial Performance: Preparation of monthly statistical report; Preparation of monthly financial, statistical, newsletters & budget variance reports; Presentation of Budget variance reports to departmental heads
  • Budget Process:  Budget preparation for all departments; Discussion of draft budgets with input from Budget and Planning Manager with departmental heads and program administrators
  • Decision Support: Preparation of feasibilities studies for all projects and equipment; Link with departmental managers to enable them to understand financial and budget processes in line with goals
  • Prepare overall AKUHN pricing strategy and implementation by working closely with departmental managers to map out overall pricing strategy; prepare weighted costs schedule for all departments and Costing of services & preparation of packages 
  • Participate in all team efforts as departmental needs arise. 


  • B.Com. or Business related course and/or CPA (K) or CFA equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 months specific accounting experience with specialization in management accounting and budgeting.
  • A team player with a positive attitude towards work and other members of the team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including telephone handling skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Skills in MS Office – MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, etc.
  • Ability to work long hours with minimal supervision has initiative and is proactive
  • Capacity to manage several tasks and requests simultaneously
  • Good grooming and self-presentation
