Terms of Service: 3-year contract

Remuneration: Consolidated salary of Ksh. 50,000 per month

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

1. A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution;
2. Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist
   board of Kenya;
3. A Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist board of Kenya;
4. Certificate in Computer applications

Duties and responsibilities

1. Coordinating provision of laboratory services in a number of units/sections;
2. Preparing work plans and programs for laboratory activities;
3. Submitting samples to reference laboratories and institutes for further analysis;
4. Preparing laboratory manuals and quality specifications;
5. Carrying out efficacy tests;
6. Initiating requisition proposals and undertaking technical evaluation for laboratory supplies/equipment and formulating technical laboratory standards.
7. Performing blood grouping and storing blood products to peripheral health facilities; and
8. Processing the specimen according to the specified Standards Operating Procedures (SOP
