The team you’ll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN). As a member of the Southern Africa and Vodafone Market Unit Services team, should you be successful in this application, you will be the designated Deploy Project Director for Safaricom Ethiopia, to be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, leading a team from various disciplines in rolling out radio and microwave Nokia solutions.

As part of our team, and reporting to the Business Group Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Provide interface to customer senior executives for operational delivery obligations, management reviews, reports, and escalations while ensuring performance against agreed SLA’s and internal KPI’s is measured, tracked, and reported on a monthly/weekly basis.
  • Ensure that the project is delivered within the approved budget and forecast profitability levels.
  • Prepare appropriate Project Management Plans and manage the consistent application of project management methodology, tools, and processes through governance, project health checks, and audits.
  • Manage the delivery model, project structures and plans for complex, cross-technology projects.

Ensure scope is in line with deliverables and create plans for handling out-of-scope activity. Respond to scope creep by immediately escalating modifications to the project scope and work with Sales.

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in managing large RAN turnkey deployment projects including Site Acquisition, Civil Works and Telecom Implementation.
  • Accredited Project Management certification. PMP Certification is preferred while Deploy PM Practitioner Certification is optional.
  • Experience in managing large teams from various disciplines (Field Force, Technical Support and Service/Helpdesk operations) in an end-to-end Services delivery scope.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma related to telecommunications, engineering, computer science, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Nokia MN Deploy SU processes and associated tools such as Nokia Delivery Platform (NDP suite).
