Will be reporting to the Chief Legal officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Handling legal matters on behalf of the University
  • Advising University on legal matters.
  • Participate preparation of University Legal documents.
  • Assisting University lawyers in all court proceedings involving the University and giving opinions when needed
  • Facilitate University legal and regulatory frameworks through constant review.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
  2. Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
  3. CPS (K) will be an added advantage.
  4. Membership to relevant professional body – LSK.
  5. Valid Practising Certificate
  6. At least three (3) years working experience in a large corporation and currently holding a similar or equivalent position.
  7. Well versed and experienced in Labour Laws Kenya

Additional Key competencies;

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in determining and handling legal matters.
  • Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling duties
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Strong leadership skills including effective interpersonal, influencing and negotiations skills:
  • Strong planning and organizational skills


For teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow, employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms.

The terms of employment for the other positions include a two (2) year performance based renewable contract, a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.
