Greenspoon is Kenya’s first and only online store for conscious consumers. The company specializes in connecting customers with the source of their products and is underpinned by a philosophy that conscious consumerism can help diminish the effects of climate change, and that through changing the way humans consume we will be able to achieve lasting change.

Greenspoon is an early adopter e-commerce business coming to the end of its fifth year of trading. Kenya saw a massive uptick in e-commerce businesses when Covid hit in March 2020; Greenspoon had an established track record for reliability and high-quality products; as well as having systems, processes and human resources in place to cope with rapid growth.

Greenspoon trades online through the website, and focuses on offering customers exceptional quality products from select artisan producers around Kenya. The company’s position within the market is high end, targeted at the higher income demographic in Nairobi with a high average basket size and deep customer loyalty.

In 2022 we aim to grow our business, driven by a loyal customer base that really values our products. The market potential is large and Greenspoon is well positioned to be successful in the market. We need to work on our infrastructure to facilitate this growth. Therefore we are looking for Kenya’s best talent to help us grow.

The Role

Are you ready to kickstart your career in 2022? Do you want to gain experience working in a fast-paced environment? Greenspoon is looking for Graduate Management Trainees to help us grow our business. Given the phase of the business, start up to scale up, there are a myriad of interesting problems to solve. The work is very dynamic and working with Greenspoon will be an unforgettable start of your career.

Trainees will rotationally work in different departments to support us with the most pressing issues we have at each moment, for instance in:

  • Finance, systems and management accounting
  • Procurement strategy
  • Logistics and warehousing
  • Human resources
  • Product & assortment management
  • Marketing and sales

We will provide you with trainings and on the job coaching. You will have a personal development budget that you can use to pursue more trainings or buy relevant books for instance. After you have done at least two rotations you have the opportunity to settle in the department that interests you most.

Candidates should possess the following traits:

  • Analytical mindset: many of the problems we are solving are challenging
  • Creativity: ability to try different problem solving strategies to get to an answer
  • Leadership potential: working with, and developing teams and members
  • Resilience: working at Greenspoon is dynamic as the standards are high


  • Excellent academic achievement
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level in business, finance, engineering or similar
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced environment
