MSF Eastern Africa 

MSF Eastern Africa (MSF EA) is the regional institutional office for MSF in East Africa. The office focuses on representation and networking, including with humanitarian organisations and authorities, recruiting and supporting staff from the region, communications and fundraising, as well as on other dossiers of importance to MSF such as Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI), mutualization, trainings, medical operational support and environmental health.

Objective of the Position:

Executing the maintenance, follow-up and monitoring of all IT and Telecom equipment, tools and services, as well as ensuring onsite technical support and training of users in accordance with MSF standards, policies, protocols and procedures, in order to guarantee the efficient use of all IT and Telecom services and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring, maintaining and following up on all Information Technology (IT) and Telecom equipment, tools and services in the mission
  • Implementation and follow-up with MSF tools periodic Preventive Maintenance plan of all HB project ICT equipment
  • Supervising, implementing and improving data security protocols
  • Providing technical support to HB Monitoring & Evaluation team on ICT technicalities, MoH universal data cloud, and presenting MSF on technical discussions meetings
  • Providing educational support (briefing, training and support, etc.) to all users
  • Providing regular activity reports for the sites under this responsibility in accordance with MSF guidelines
  • Participating in the establishment of the annual budget of the IT and Telecom families
  • Performing any other task, specific to this area of speciality, as defined in the job description and according to the line manager

Qualification & Requirements


  • Essential, Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or any similar qualification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Mandatory: 2 years of proven work experience in IT or technical functions.
  • Expertise in latest version of Microsoft Operating System and business applications with understanding of Server management.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware and maintenance processes, network theory and their respective protocols.
  • Understanding of radio telecommunication concepts (HF, VHF, GSM, Satellite).
  • MSF experience is an added advantage.


  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili is a must
