HTS Counsellor (1 POST)
The vacancy shall be tenable on a contract term at gross pay of Kshs. 50,000 per month renewable upon satisfactory performance.
The HTS Counselor is responsible for Providing HIV Testing Services to Patients and Clients seeking services in their respective Health Facilities using provider-initiated testing and counseling, Voluntary Counseling and testing, Targeted Family and Partner testing/Partner notification services and other novel HTS approaches.
They will be responsible for working closely with other service providers to ensure that the quality of HTS services is sustainable as defined by the MOH service quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Â Â Â Create awareness and provide education about the existence of HIV testing services.
ii. Â Â Â Lead in the mobilization of clients for HTS.
iii. Â Â Â Provide pre/post-test HIV counseling ensuring that clients understand risk factors, prevention methods and other relevant issues.
iv. Â Â Â Provide confidential HIV testing to clients, as per National HTS guidelines.
v. Â Â Â Provide on-going counseling and make relevant referrals for on-going support.
vi. Â Â Â Always ensure quality of HTS services.
vii. Â Â Â Document and maintain accurate HTS records including referrals and report on referral outcomes.
i.   Compile and submit HTS reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to the Supervisor.
ii.   Timely requests for all the necessary consumables for undertaking HTS activities.
iii.   Participate in HTS QA activities like PTM counseling supervision etc.
iv.   Ensure HTS optimization in the facility.
v.   Provide Partner notifications services.
vi.   Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i.   MUST have completed at least Diploma Level Course in Social or Health Sciences
ii.   Certificate in HTS accredited by NASCOP.
iii.   Conducted and passed Proficiency Tests.
iv.   Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
v.   Excellent written, listening and oral communications skills.
vi.   Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
vii.   Excellent use of android application and computer literacy, particular in the use of MS Office.
viii.   Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
ix.   Ability to conceptualize and understand program needs.
x.   Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.

b. Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d. Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
