Kenya Red Cross Society is a leading humanitarian organization sustainably promoting the well-being, health and resilience of communities in Kenya.  The Society in collaboration with the Norwegian Red Cross (NRC) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the following position:

Position Title:  Coordinator Results Management

Region: Africa

Location: Nairobi

Reporting To: Deputy Regional Representative-Norwegian Red Cross

Purpose

The role of the Results Management Coordinator is to strengthen Norwegian Red Cross’ accountability through improving project management, the ability to measure and document planned and unplanned results

Strategic responsibilities

  • Overseeing and ensuring implementation of established results-based management (RBM) standards across all Norwegian RC supported projects
  • Strengthen humanitarian needs analysis and results focus in all projects approved and implemented with Norwegian Red Cross funding support.
  • Support adherence to relevant core work processes in the region in line with best established practices and approved results framework

 Operational responsibilities

  • Proactively promote harmonization of RBM standards across region through dissemination of NorCross established standards and approaches and technical direction/guidance 
  • Coordinates with Country Teams to improve work processes in order to ensure streamlined, effective, efficient results management and transparent decision-making 
  • Ensures that the regional and country offices are updated on Norwegian Red Cross project management requirements, monitors compliance, and recommends improvements.
  • Provides support to Country Offices, Country Teams and relevant regional office staff to ensure best practices in project cycle management and systematic application of available technology.
  • In coordination with country offices, supports selected National Society capacities to ensure adequate project design, base and end line surveys and monitoring procedures.
  • Support Country Offices and Country Teams in application of NorCross technical standards within results-based management, including community engagement and accountability in NorCross supported projects.
  • Upon request, plans and participates in project reviews, and supports the management response to the recommendations from internal reviews and external evaluations.
  • Quality assures documentation and reporting of results submitted by regional and country offices and country teams. 
  • Collaborates with the Regional Finance Manager to ensure coherent financial and operational planning and data.
  • Cooperates closely with other Results Management Coordinators in other NorCross Regional offices, and “Coordinator – Program Support” and “Coordinator Results, Planning and Monitoring” at the National Office.

Collaboration

Collaborates closely with the Strategy Results Units in headquarters to ensure that the region possesses and implements the appropriate tools to reinforce results management procedures. Collaborates closely within Program Unit to ensure harmonization of technical standards with results management standards.  

Qualifications

  • Formal Competence     
  • Advanced University Degree in relevant field.
  • Formal qualifications in qualitative and quantitative methods an asset. 

Personal qualifications, skills and knowledge

 Skills and knowledge

  • Direct experience in results-based management from an organizational context with focus on health programs  
  • Proven experience in efficient application of best practices in project cycle- and management and related technology.
  • Experience from the humanitarian sector and successful implementation of projects on a field level an asset. 
  • Fluency in English required. 
  • Work proficiency in French an important asset
