Lipa Later is a buy now, pay later platform that allows consumers to shop and pay for items in monthly installments. Lipa Later is a Pan-African organization with presence across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Nigeria – with plans of opening new markets in the near future. The company is growing quickly, and as such, we are looking to recruit and onboard a team of industry leaders with a hustler mentality, ambition and desire to rapidly build a Pan African business. This position is based in Kenya.

About the Role

The Head of B2B – Kenya drives the organization’s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) business to business development strategies. The individual will be in charge of exploring new business opportunities. Execute business strategies that are in line with organizational objectives and build good working relationships to provide new offerings.

Reports to: Country Manager Kenya

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of our BNPL Business-to-Business strategy.
  • Develop nurture campaigns and demand generation efforts to drive awareness and interest for Lipa Later B2B products
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments on marketing and design requests
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Drive partnerships with various stakeholders.
  • Drive product research to understand future impacts on product offerings and production.
  • Establish business development strategies to ensure overall organizational strategy is followed.
  • Lead identification of opportunities to improve business processes.
  • Lead local team discussions to confirm decisions on business development.
  • Lead new business opportunity projects based on business network feedback and economic landscape.
  • Lead new business ventures and plan client approaches.
  • Lead partnerships with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for portfolio.
  • Plan targets and goals in line with business development strategies.

Requirements & Skill:

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Detail-oriented and persuasive.
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
