Job Description

PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships, and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing health challenges. 

PATH is currently recruiting for a Product Owner for its Information Technology (IT) team. The IT Department works with business partners worldwide to solve information technology challenges, improve efficiencies, and meet strategic goals.

The Product Owner is the key stakeholder and representative of PATH business users across PATH for all assigned product(s). The Product Owner position encompasses Salesforce and the associated ancillary systems in the PATH Salesforce ecosystem, along with other miscellaneous systems as assigned. The ideal candidate is a professional with Salesforce experience wanting to grow their skills, contribute new ideas to the team, and take on strategic projects identified by the IT Strategy Council.

The Product Owner will build trusted relationships with business partners and teams to align focus on designing, integrating, and delivering solutions for their success. They will be responsible for the end-to-end solutions, including requirements gathering, coordination with development team, testing, deployment coordination, monitoring, and gathering metrics.

In partnership with the business unit stakeholders, IT Leadership, and the IT Strategy Council, the Product Owner defines outcomes, manages the product vision and roadmap, and measures value across releases for their assigned products. The Product Owner focuses on ROI and ensures that the highest priority requirements offer the highest business value, and that the business units are ready and aligned before the development team begins work. The Product Owner guides the development effort by conveying vision to the team, populating the product backlog, and prioritizing the work based on business value.


  • Work with business and IT leadership to set and communicate vision for assigned products

  • Represent stakeholders for vision, goals, and desired outcomes

  • Manage Salesforce and assigned systems’ product roadmaps in partnership with IT Leadership, Stakeholders, and IT Strategy Council.

  • Focus on ROI, to ensure enhancements undertaken offer the highest business value and align to priorities as established by the IT Strategy Council

  • Work with business units to ensure they are ready to engage, have committed resources, and are aligned with IT on design before development begins

  • Act as a super user for current PATH configurations, workflows, and templates

  • Contribute to the technical roadmap as defined by the Data & Applications Manager and technical staff, making configuration and ecosystem recommendations

  • Own system configuration and user setup as needed

  • Deliver user training

  • Keep abreast of Salesforce and assigned products’ application roadmaps, new features, and licensing structure

    • Assist business unit stakeholders with framing requests and defining requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, workshops, surveys, business process modeling, user stories, use-cases, business and workflow analysis, functional specifications, and system design specifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent industry experience required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Salesforce and Salesforce App Exchange solutions
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience deploying solutions for business problems in an agile environment
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with business and systems analysis
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas
  • Experience driving the end-to-end lifecycle, from conception to launch as well as post-launch support
  • Track record of streamlining systems and processes
  • Process analysis and modeling skills, lean process improvement preferred
  • Willingness to adapt to and take on new opportunities as they arise
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya

Remote Work:

PATH continues to evolve to support our employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, most of PATH’s US based positions are temporarily 100% remote, within commuting distance to our PATH offices. When PATH transitions more broadly to in-person work, we will operate with a hybrid workplace model.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:

PATH has instituted a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all employees, interns, consultants, and temporary staff based in the United States. Individuals selected for job opportunities in the United States must be fully vaccinated, and show proof of vaccination status, upon hire. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson. Individuals with medical issues or sincerely held religious beliefs that prevent them from getting the vaccine may request an exemption from the vaccine requirement.
