A C.V. introduction should be under a heading Career Profile. In this section we recommend using bullets and making the sentences as short as possible. In the first bullet state your profession for example accounting professional, state any relevant required registrations e.g with CHRM for human resource professionals. In the same bullet mention what sectors of the economy you have worked in e.g. manufacturing, public or financial services sectors. Some people want to include the number of years of experience here, note however in some instances this could work against you.

In the second bullet indicate three or four of the most marketable, senior skills/ expertise you have gained e.g team management or project management. Highlight the most important skills or expertise here, reference the job description to ensure that you highlight the skills they have given an emphasis to.

In the third and final bullet tell them, how all the above will be able to benefit their organization for example in accounting “improvement of decision making by management due to accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, reports and data”

The introduction shouldn’t be more than at most 10 sentences the shorter the better.
