About Kenya Climate Ventures
Kenya Climate Ventures(KCV), http://www.kcv.co.ke, is an impact investment
venture fund, seeking to accelerate access to climate smart solutions by
providing tailored and targeted financial, technical assistance and business
development support to early and growth stage businesses in Kenya.
We invest in agribusiness, commercial forestry, renewable energy, water, and
waste management sectors, with a focus on small and growing businesses
(SGBs) whose commercial growth and success will have a positive impact on
target markets, communities, and the environment in Kenya.
Your Role and Responsibilities
While reporting to Finance and Administration Manager, the Finance Officer,
you will contribute to financial planning, including preparation of budgets,
project casn flow forecasts and implementing appropriate budgetary controls
and periodic reports for management consideration.
You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development teams to;
i. Process financial and accounting data, confirm such data is in
accordance with the laid down procedures and policies, accurate,
complete, adequately supported by all underlying appropriate
documents, correctly assigned to appropriate expenses and approved
ii. Review project ledger Monthly for accuracy of postings and alignment
to investment structure and budgets;
iii. Review commitments In the ERP on a regular basis ensuring they are
accurate;iv. Prepare bank reconciliation statements for select bank accounts on a monthly basis;
v. Implement the KCV’s procurement activities
vi. Monitor cost contribution for investor/ funder, where applicable;
vii. Assist in external audit coordination or the project including preparing
and monitoring audit schedules as may be assigned;
viii. Review and approve travel advance requests based on budgets and
value for money considerations;
ix. Review and approve travel and other expense surrenders;
x. Contribute to budgeting.
Do you have what is takes?
For this role, the qualifications include;
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, commerce or
finance from a recognized university;
• Have professional qualifications in Finance (CPA, ACCAl or related
field is mandatory;
• Be a member of a professional body;
• Experience working on a similar role within the investment industry;
• Have strong proficiency in advanced excel features;
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely pot orally and
• Be fluent in English.

with a proven ability to work effectively within a team with timely and high
