The Social Business Unit (SBU) is the business arm of PSI that focuses on balancing commercial viability and social impact to deliver consumer-powered healthcare at scale through social enterprise entities in markets around the globe – including India, Southern Africa, Angola, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Paraguay, and Central America. The SBU vision is to design consumer-centric social enterprises that use a combination of digital and offline healthcare solutions to support consumers’ self-care journey, and give them choice, voice and agency in their health and well-being. PSI’s Social Business Unit has unique requirements compared to PSI’s not for profit activities, and this position is intended to act as a bridge between the accounting needs of the SBU and the rest of PSI. By ensuring accurate recording and reporting of global and country level SBU transactions and identifying areas for improvement, this position will drive accurate, timely reporting of financial performance. In addition to working with the country office teams, you will work with members of the Global Finance team, including the Controller’s team, Regional Finance Operations and Budget and Insurance team. This position will be expected to implement and coordinate financial integration activities with respect to monthly consolidation, intercompany transactions, and policy alignment among existing PSI SBU teams and processes with local GAAP, PSI Global and US GAAP requirements. This person would also be responsible for the accurate accounting for PSI SBU’s strategic investments, including assisting with determining the appropriate accounting treatment of new business initiatives and models e.g., new partnerships, distribution agreements and new markets, in alignment with US GAAP and local statutory requirements. This person will ideally have relevant experience with various areas of accounting including business combinations, intercompany, revenue recognition, consolidation, foreign currency, valuation concepts, and be familiar with different financing methods.  |
