The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly talented Data Analyst– Graduate Intern.

 The Position: Through the Development and Delivery of Biofortified Crops at scale project (DDBIO) project, the International Potato Center (CIP) and its partners aim to build on the success of a previous nutritious sweetpotato program to develop and deliver biofortified sweetpotato in Africa and Asia at scale. To achieve this, various delivery models have been utilized including nutrition education to mothers and caregivers, to combat Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) in young children through higher intake of Vitamin A-rich sweetpotato varieties, such as the orange fleshed sweetpotato (OFSP). This study aims to assess the effectiveness of these interventions in enhancing nutrition information and changes in dietary behavior in project intervention areas in Kenya. Results of the study will provide evidence on the impact of the intervention and will be critical in informing scaling efforts of such interventions.

The graduate intern will support the Principal Investigator in managing data collection and the collected data, perform descriptive analyses of the data using standard statistical tools, and help in drafting a technical report. These terms of reference (ToR) aim to set out the minimum requirements and the scope of work for the CIP Graduate Intern.

Key responsibilities:

· Assist in survey tools design and programming.
·Supervise field data collection.
·Perform survey data cleaning and management.
· Assist in drafting of survey report.
· Perform any other tasks as assigned by project team.

Requirements

Selection Criteria

· Currently enrolled for an M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Economics/ Economics/Agricultural Resource Management/Agri-business      Management in a recognized university in Kenya.
· Three (3) years of practical experience in fieldwork and analysis of survey and qualitative data.
· Strong analytical skills in STATA.
· Ability to work with NVivo is an added advantage.
· Demonstrated knowledge of data collection software such as Open Data Kit (ODK) and CSPro.
·Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently and independently.
·Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
·Good interpersonal skills, integrity, honesty, and self-motivation.
·Able to work well within a team.
· Advanced level in written and spoken English
