Job Description

Context

NRC’s global strategic plan for 2022 – 2025 includes Digital Transformation as a strategic enabler for the organisation and a key element in expanding the reach of our assistance towards NRC’s 2030 ambitions. To do so, NRC is increasingly adopting digital solutions to drive internal efficiencies and provide digital services to the people it serves. Key to this, will be NRC’s ability to secure systems, applications, and the data these will process, to ensure privacy, confidentiality and avoid causing digital harm.

Starting from 2018, NRC has invested in developing a number of digital products on the Salesforce platform. Today key business areas and processes across the organisation are supported by these solutions. NRC is now looking to recruit an experienced Salesforce Solutions Architect to further improve the use and effectiveness of the platform and digital products built on it.

Among the Salesforce-based digital solutions at NRC today, there are globally adopted solutions such as grants management, incident management, private and corporate fundraising; as well as ones with a smaller footprint – including complaints and feedback mechanisms and programme and beneficiary databases. These applications have been introduced over the years without a coordinated and overarching enterprise architecture approach. They use different products from the Salesforce platform and are not consistently using the latest available features, which is something that NRC aims to address in the coming years.

What you will do

You will have a critical responsibility to effectively align the business and technology needs of our organization across the Salesforce platform implementation. You will work across different products and interact with different individuals, teams, and business owners across these products.

Some of your key tasks will include:

  • Develop and maintain the Data Model/ERD & System Architecture Diagram for each of the Salesforce-based products in use at the global level in NRC.
  • Advise and support Salesforce-related initiatives and operations.
  • Establish policies and best practices for Salesforce.
  • Lead in the technical design and development of new Salesforce capabilities.
  • Lead in the definition, operationalization, and adherence to operational routines (licensing, backup, etc.) following Salesforce best practices.
  • Carry out reviews of existing Salesforce-based digital solutions across NRC, identifying and initiating improvements.
  • Support and mentor other NRC colleagues working on Salesforce, in particular providing technical leadership to System Administrators.
  • Keep up to date with Salesforce platform developments and introduce this knowledge and potential improvements to NRC colleagues and solutions.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years Salesforce development experience as a certified Salesforce Technical Architect and as a Salesforce Solution Architect.
  • 5+ years systems development experience within ERP system architecture with multiple dependencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring and building capacity of Salesforce developers and administrators.
  • Documented experience in designing technical architecture according to best practises.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, other languages are an advantage.
  • Strong ability to motivate colleagues.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate.

We work in crises across more than 31 countries, providing emergencies and long-term assistance to millions of people every year. We stand up for people forced to flee, advocating their rights. NORCAP, our global provider of expertise, helps improve international and local ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from crises. NRC also runs the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre in Geneva, a global leader in reporting on and advocating for people displaced within their own country.

Employment with NRC may lead to employment in or deployment to Regions, Countries, Areas or Offices that may be host to considerable health, safety and security risks. NRC takes this very seriously and we have procedures in place to reduce known risks, but will never be able to take away all risks.
