The accountant is responsible for the implementation of accounting tasks, policies and procedures for the USAID-funded ACDI/VOCA programs, including but not limited to the responsibilities outlined below. The position will be based in Nairobi.
The audit committee plays a key role with respect to the integrity of the entity's financial information, its system of governance, risk and internal controls, and the legal and ethical conduct of management and employees.
Preparation and verification of vouchers in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations involving primary data entry and routine accounting work such as balancing of cashbooks, imprest and advances ledgers etc.
Data capture, maintenance of primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books, registers and preparation of simple management reports e.g. imprest and expenditure returns etc.
Undertaking Specific Audit assignments and preparing detailed Audit Observations and reports as required.
Reviewing the applications of accounting Standards and systems including IFMIS and recommending changes and improvements;
Responsible for business development and operations of the Branch while ensuring staff engagement, customer satisfaction, profitability and growth in line with the Bank’s strategy.
To reconcile fixed assets register to the general ledger on a monthly basis breaking down major categories of assets into cost, depreciation and net book value
